Inspire trust through pure innocence and health: Reason #6

There are few things more innocent than a flower. Even something as harmless as a rock can be picked up and thrown, and their heft and danger makes them inspire caution. Flowers on the other hand if left untouched are just as harmless as a rock, even though they trap insects, can poison birds, and combat each other for superiority in their habitats. In scientific honesty, flowers are less innocent than rocks, but we don’t perceive them that way. That’s because flowers are as light as feathers, are soft, and beautiful.

Now imagine if on your business counter where potential customers speak with you or your staff, that you have rocks displayed. Do you think these rocks would inspire trust? No, but if you have flowers displayed then inspiring trust is possible. And here’s the golden ticket: The more healthy your flowers, the more trust you will subconsciously inspire. This is because people trust mothers when they see they take good care of their children. If customers see that your flowers are unhealthy, they’ll wonder how well you’ll take care of themselves with your products or services.

Not only do healthy flowers inspire innocence through their qualities, and not only does innocence inspire trust, but also when customers see how you’re able to love and care for something so weak and innocent like a flower, they will see you too as innocent and trustworthy. It’s the same reason why restaurants that sell sea food often have large aquariums in the front entrance.

So maximize the trust and innocence of your business’s appearance by ensuring your flower displays are always as healthy as they can be, because your appearance won’t seem so innocent and trustworthy after you’ve failed to take care of something as innocent as a flower.
